Grungy Target Brush Tutorial

This tutorial will teach you how to make this grungy target brush, examples below.

1. Open a document in Photoshop. Mine is 350 by 350. Make sure the background's transparent.

2. Use the custom shape tool (the little blob). Click on the shape called "Bull's Eye". If this is not available click the little arrow and check off "All".

3. Make sure your foreground color black and hold shift (so the target's perfectly circular) and drag until you have the size of target you want. The bigger the target, the better the effect. Your's should look kind of like mine.

4.Now go, LAYER -- RASTERIZE -- SHAPE.

5.Click on the Fill bar in your Layer Window. Drag it down to 0%. Don't worry if you can't see your target

6. Right click on you layer and go to blending options. In the window that pops-up, click on Stroke. Change your size to 1px and your color to black. Click "OK".

7.Take your eraser tool and change the settings to a 25px soft brush. Rub the eraser over the target outline. Don't rub in one spot too long or it will ruin the effect.

8. To make this a brush, take your Rectangle Marquee Tool and drag it around your target. Then go EDIT -- DEFINE BRUSH PRE-SET.

Here's how mine turned out. Now you can use this Grungy Target Brush on all sorts of projects and it all sorts of colors! If this tutorial helped you a credit is appreciated but not required.
